چکیده

As the most essential biological characteristic in malignant tumors, infiltration and metastasis are the leading cause for the deaths of patients with tumors. At present, the morbidity and mortality of lung cancer are the highest among malignant tumors all over the world, in which most of them result from infiltration and metastasis (Li et al., 2013; Fei et al., 2013; Huang et al., 2013; Cui et al., 2014; Hou et al., 2014). In recent years, relevant studies have revealed that cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) CD44 v6 and E-cadherin (E-cad) are closely associated with infiltration and metastasis in a variety of tumors (Amirghofran et al., 2008; Wendt et al., 2011; Shiwu et al., 2012). Additionally, being the most commonlyencountered metastatic pathway in lung cancer, lymphatic metastasis not only affects the tumor staging, but also influences patients’ prognosis (Cazes et al., 2014). Hence, in this study, the expressions of CD44 v6 and E-cad in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissue were detected by immunohistochemical method, and their correlation with the lymphatic metastasis of NSCLC was investigated so as to provide evidences for NSCLC clinical treatment.

P-219: The Role of E-Cadherin Coding Gene (CDH1) in Pathogenesis of Endometriosis

Background: Endometriosis, a gyncological disorder, benign and common cause of infertility, is defined as the presence of endometrial glands and stroma at ectopic locations outside the uterine cavity. Clinical observations have led to the assessment that endometriosis is an invasive disease. Abnormal expression of adhesion molecules such as cadherins is likely to be an important determinant of l...

Correlation between E-cadherin and CD44 adhesion molecules expression and cervical lymph node metastasis in oral tongue SCC: Predictive significance or not.

The aim of this article was to evaluate the expression of E-cadherin and CD44 adhesion molecule in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) since inappropriate expression of adhesion molecules raises the metastatic ability of the tumor cells. Biopsy specimens from 92 patients with tongue SCC were examined for the expression of E-cadherin and CD44 by immunohistochemistry. The relationship of im...

E-Cadherin in Relation with the Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen of the Bilharzia Associ-ated and Non-Associated Urinary Bladder Carcinoma

Background: E-cadherin is a trans-membrane glycoprotein that plays a critical role in many aspects of cell adhesion as well as establishment and maintenance of epithelial cell polarity. Loss of the adhesive function of E-cadherin seems to promote invasive and metastatic properties of neoplastic cells. Objectives: The present study is a retrospective study aiming to evaluate the loss of E-cadher...

Background: Ovarian cancer is a leading metastatic disease. The epithelial ovarian cancer is one of the most common malignant cancers that usually remains asymptomatic up to metastasis stages, and most patient when diagnosed are in the advanced stage of the disease. Studies have shown that in the majority of epithelial cancers mesenchymal factor expression such as Vimentin increases, and the ep...
